Frequently Asked Questions

General Questions

To install the PHP app and get it working:

  1. Download the CWIS scanner package if you haven’t already
  2. Upload the CWIS files to the desired location on your web server:
    If you want to install scanner into the root of your domain (e.g. )

 http://example.com

, move or upload all contents of the unzipped CWIS package into the root directory (e.g.)

 public_html

,

httpdocs

) of your site.

If you want to install scanner in the subdirectory (e.g)

 

http://example.com/folder/

), upload the contents of the unzipped CWIS package to the appropriate directory on your site via FTP.

Note: If your FTP client has an option to convert file names to lower case, make sure it’s disabled.

To install the plugin and get it working:

  1. Login into your WordPress administration panel

  1. Navigate to Plugins option in WordPress navigation menu, and select Add New
  2. Please type CWIS in the Search Plugins box (or upload plugin to the /wp-content/plugins/ directory)
  3. Select Install Now and than choose to Activate the plugin (or activate the plugin through the Plugins menu in WordPress)
  4. Navigate to CWIS Antivirus Scanner option in the navigation menu, and click Start Scan button

The CWIS melware removal tools

After the scanning process was complete go to scan results and select one of the following categories – Vulnerabilities, Malware and Viruses, Spyware and Adware or Professional Features.

 

Open any of the infected category’s tab

Select a sab-category marked as infected by malware and opened the windows with the infected files. You will see the malicious piece of code and the line number of the that code in the file

Click on the infected line\piece of code to open the malware removal tools
